I have a 12g Hatsan Escort Aimguard Pump. It currently has the magazine set to only take 2 rounds, although the capacity is 4. It came like this when I bought it.
The barrel is for slugs and buckshot, I'm never going to use the gun for waterfowl hunting or any other game for that matter so I want to remove the restricting rod so I can get 4 shells in the mag. The problem I have is that there seems to be no way to get into the magazine tube. Does anyone else have one of these pumps and is familiar with removing the magazine rod?
I've removed the magazine locking nut, and on the US version of the pump, that is all you need to do, but it seems that on the Canadian version, the magazine spring appears to be locked in place by a crimp at the end of the magazine tube - meaning that even with the magazine nut removed, there's no way to access the internal magazine spring. Not sure if I am explaining correctly so here's a couple of pics that may help.
