Just picked up another MPA after selling my last one a couple years back and am trying to find a few accessories but can't seem to find anything besides a side saddle.

Firstly Does anyone know where I can find a mag extension tube? I tried emailing S&J since they use to make them but no longer have them on their site. They told me they no longer make them and when I inquired about how to tell if one I found online (since sold) was type 1 or 2 they never bothered to get back to me. So if anyone can point me in the direction of one new or used or maybe another brand that fits then that would be great! (not sure if mine is type 1 or 2 threads yet as I won't have it until Monday. Would also consider getting one custom made but again would prefer to try and find a made one first to keep costs down (anyone know of a good place that could make it and not charge a fortune?)

Also looking for a door breacher/buster, couldn't find any except maybe one in Europe but think it was sold out (plus would rather not order from Europe if I didn't have to). I tried emailing bell outdoors and got no reply, will try giving them a call in a few days once my shotgun arrives and if nothing turns up. Again new or used doesn't matter.

Anyways thanks in advance for any information/tips!

I had the same issue trying to find the mag extension for mine. It seems like the glory days of these are over, and S&J aren't making extensions for them any more. I contacted them when they allegedly had a very few number of the less common type in stock. After an 870 extension being sent, some ignored emails for a few weeks, and a lot of waiting, I finally got one that worked. I wouldn't recommend dealing with S&J because that's been my experience 50% of the time when buying from them.

You're probably going to have to order from Europe or go the custom route.

Muzzle devices for the Saiga 12 are the same threading as what does Hatsan does, they just screw right on. I got a choke from https://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/category_s/2026.htm and it fits perfectly. Just be aware that some screw on over, others require an adapter. Email them if you have any questions, they were helpful when I looked around.

I also have an 870 stock adapter on mine, and it currently has a Dominion Arms Grizzly stock on it. I was going to put an 870 express stock on it, but the bolt was too long and I had to use a bunch of washers, and when I tightened it enough so that the stock didn't move, the plastic tube thing the stock bolt goes through split in half. :(

Here's a pic of mine with the S&J extension, the Saiga choke, and sans a stock.

I had read an 870 extension would work. What did you end up with?

A little off topic but I'm looking at buying my 1st semi auto shotgun and I've been taking a close look at these. They seem to be good bang for the buck. What do you guys think about them?
Thanks

Hey, Thanks for the reply!

So the extension in your pic is Remington? is it the plus 3 version? I think years ago when I had my original hatsan I read that benelli supernova tubes worked (atleast on the non Canadian versions that have the lip) So did you just get S&J to bore some of the threads out of the extension to close up that gap/lip? or maybe they just threaded the tube further? or what did they need to do? haha Think it may be cheaper to modify an existing tube or get someone to match and continue the threads over having a new tube made from scratch.

Ill check out some saiga breachers and see if anything catches my interest.

I plan to leave my fixed pistol grip stock on as those are my fav styles and I recall in the past that it was comfortable but I wouldn't mind a sling adapter to fit between the receiver and stock like alot of 870's use, have you seen anything like that? Also how do you find those velcro shell holders? I have always been hesitant with those but I guess enough people use them that they may be okay.

Thanks!

I had one years ago and it was reliable and shot everything I fed through it from cheap walmart 100 round packs of bird shot to slugs and 00 Buck, never had a single issue short of finding accessories which still seems to be an issue apparently. I only sold it as I needed cash for something else. From what I have read hatsan overall is well liked and one of the better turkish shotgun companies, I wouldn't want to take it to war (not sure how it would hold up) but for fun/plinking, maybe some competitions or light apocalyptical use then it should be all good haha.

I'm sure you are also looking at other semi's, most likely you are looking at those "turknelli" m4 clones as I was and so far I have seen not so good reviews including a bolt face that sheared off, I may consider one of those in the future if they get the kinks worked out.

Anyways good luck and safe shooting when you get your first semi shotty.

Well a small update, I just got my hatsan in the mail and there's good news and bad news.

The good news is it has the short thread pattern so it should be easy to use another mag tube (maybe the tac star supernova or 870).

The bad news is I got the UK version barrel with no external threads/flash hider, instead came with internally threaded chokes. (gonna try to trade the barrel on the EE)

Think I recall a thread on another site somewhere where someone had the same barrel and found a different muzzle device for it, will need to look around and see if I can find it again. It also came with a goofy plastic carry handle that fits over the rear sight, its super ugly so don't plan to use it but was interesting to see.

No, the extension is specifically for the Hatsan with the less common mag tubes. I tried 870 mag tubes right off the bat and they didn't fit, and S&J sent me an 870 extension by mistake when I ordered from them. The extension allowed for seven shells of 2.75" and six 3" shells, so I had to JB weld in something to the bottom of the tube to permanently limit it. Now it holds five 3" and I can get 6 2.75".

Supernova extensions do work for some models, but you need to use a spacer because they don't screw all the way in if I remember correctly.

I haven't seen any sling plate adapters available. Velcro saddles are pretty good, but the S&J ones I have tend to have the shells slip down after a few shots, so the're not tight enough IMO. I have another brand I can't remember that is much tighter, but I have no other recommendations on them. I would personally prefer a hard plastic saddle to be velcroed on, but even crappy stretchy ones are useful for carrying a few shells extra, even if they slip a bit.
