hatsan mp-a opinions

I've had mine a short while now and only had time to put a few boxes thru it. It's a very solid feeling gun and lighter than both my 590 and my 12.5" grizzly. Fit and finish are top notch. It didn't want to cycle the cheapo Winchester low brass stuff I had but the high brass loads cycled without a hitch. Im guessing it needs a little breaking in, though to be honest I hadn't even cleaned the packing grease out of it. It's the most fun I've had with a shotty in a while though, you can rap off six rounds in less than a second. Essentially a poor man's Benelli the way I see it, you get a lot for the price (ghost rings, rails, flashider) I'm liking mine.

MP-A Opinion

I have owned one since January of this year. It handles anything I care to feed it. Cheap low brass wal-mart target loads, low recoil slugs, to 3 inch high velocity slugs and buckshot. I've put hundreds of rounds through it. Its a really fun shotgun, and can't be beat for the price.

I did have one problem though, the extractor broke on me. Granted it was after a day of heavy shooting. I had a replacement in my hands in 5 business days from Bell through the gun shop where I bought it. Many rounds since and no problems since.

The only thing I had to do was put some locktite on the threads of the screws that hold the top rail on and the screw that holds the front sight on.

I find that keeping the gas piston/block clean is a bit of a pain. Perhaps just not using the right solvent???

ChrisAlston: Give yours a good cleaning, pay special attention to the gas piston and the 2 gas ports in the barrel. After that it should fire anything you want.

Of course, your mileage may vary....

looking for feedback on owners of these shotguns. any good?

Well you tell me... 5 rounds = 00.8 secs.

I hate passing it to my buddy cause he thinks shells fall from the sky BUT did you see the smile on his face?

Round count 8000+ no FTEs FTFs

Yeah I tore it all down and cleaned it out real good afterwords, she's spick n span now and all lubed up. I haven't had a chance to shoot it since then but I'm thinking it should run fine.

I've had mine for a week and a half now. Put about 350 or so rounds through it without any problems. Lots of fun for the price, great fit and finish, sights are very nice. Still say very hard to beat at twice the price or more!

Target loads, heavy field loads, 3" buckshot and 3" slugs then 1oz light reloads... mine has cycled them all without issue.

Very good shotgun and excellent pricing. You won't regret it.

i just bought the gun and fired about 50 shells as soon as i bought it. it wasn't cycling factory federal buckshot until about 15-20 rounds in. after that it cycled them fairly well. but it seems to just need breaking in. 3" shells where no issue.

i do have a question though, where does the Oring go on the gun? unless i can't see it, mine only came with one, which wasn't installed.

and dam this gun hobby, it was such an impulse buy! so much so i saw it and left my range, got home, looked it up, and went back!
