So my buddy grabbed my empty mpa with the action locked open and some how he got his pinky finger in there and slap! The action closed spearing the extractor bone deep into his pinky! Hahahaha watch your didgets guys!! :p

This is another fine example of how unforgiving shotguns can be of careless usage and lack of respect.

Atleast he'll never do that ever again :)

Oh I don't think he will ever forget that one! Hahaha poor guys finger is massive and turning darker by the hour!!

I could see The action release being easily unintetially activated by someone not familiar with the Hatsan.
It's like a good scope bite.... Should only happen once!

About a year ago, I was sitting in on my sister's Firearms course.
At one point during the day there was a time period where everyone was learning how to handle the guns and load/unload snap caps.
I was giving the instructor a hand by showing them how to load magazines, PROVE a gun safe ect.

A few of the guns were in rather rough mechanical shape, there was an old semi-auto 12 gauge that had a tendency to jam.
At one point I was trying to pull a jammed dummy round out of the feeding ramp when I accidentally released the bolt.
I didn't quite get my finger out in time, it cut me pretty good.

Lesson learned.

Owch that does hurt! First time I was handling my new manufactured Springfield M1 Garand I did not lock the bolt back all the way it was just sitting on the feed spring.... stuck my finger in and SNAP off to the hospital. lol

This is definitely a related injury to Garand thumb. I have never done it myself, but cringe every time I let the bolt go forward and think about getting a thumb or finger stuck in there as the bolt slams home. Ouch.

OP's buddy is lucky he didn't end up needing stitches.

That's an anti theft feature of the Hatsan. I added the door buster which has sharp points on it and the leg hold trap over folder stock to mine. In a thiefs hands my shotgun is a recipe for self injury!!!

yea i have a hatsan sporting 12ga. the slide release is part of the loading port. barely gotta touch that thing and she goes flying home. i know how hard mine slams home with no load in there and that gotta suck to slam your finger in there.
