Hey guys. I got a door buster for my Hatsan Optima and it doesn't appear to index right. Has this happened to anyone else before?

Pics... Looks like it should be about 30 more degrees turned. Its not bottoming out on the outside. The barrel threads top out on the internal threads (if that makes sense)

4 outta the 6 sides have vents...Ideally the 2 none ported sides I would like on the top and bottom. Any suggestions guys?

would taking the o ring off help? def doesnt look right not being lined up with the side of the shotgun. LOL send it to me and ill try it on mine ;)

No thats what I was trying to say...it bottoms out on the inside. If I take off the O-ring and screw it on there is just an o-ring length gap. When it gets tight it gets metal on metal tight. When I take it off the threads end and there is about 3/16 of plain metal after that...so I was thinking...if I filed off a tiny bit of metal...it would allow it to screw the extra 30 degrees..but I don't really wanna do that...

I had the same issue except mines not that far out. It actually eneded up workin out nicely because I shoot with the shotty on a slight cant. I intentionally put my AR muzzle break in a cant.

No update yet, too much Christmas and finals and what not. I would use a shim but it only tightens up at the last second. Like a full turn unscrewed it is pretty wobbly...I would be a bit worried about that I think.

don't file it cuz its not gonna work, the threads are bottoming out yes? if there is a gap between the device and the shoulder of the barrel (the washer removed and a gap) removing metal will not help you will have to either add more threads or install a fat enough washer to allow the device to come to rest against it than you can file "tune" it to index properly

Here is a pic I drew up to maybe explain what I am 95% sure is happening. The internal "top" of the door buster is bottoming out on the "top" of the barrel. Also note. The threads end before the barrel ends. There is a 1/4 ish section of non threaded barrel before it ends

I suppose removing metal on the end of the barrel may work its not like it has to be crowned or anything its just a shotgun but do you want to file your shotgun to fit your door brake or would you rather just get a door brake that fits, I know hatson makes there own brake which may fit better

I think you only have a few options my friend, return it and possibly try another, add a small cylindrical type spacer to allow the breach to come to rest on it than index it by removing metal from it, or remove metal from the barrel which of course does the same thing, or live with it??
