Hatsan Optima Silver Synthetic Slug

Hatsan doesn't manufacture rifled barrels for their shotguns. They're considered prohibited in Turkey.

I would have bought one if the barrels were rifled, not sure why it is has "Slug" in the name.

I'd imagine because of the short tubes, until fairly recently (the 80's or thereabout) there were no fully rifled shotguns and most manufacturers labeled their short "riot" configurations as slug guns for those restricted to shotgun only for hunting, nothing to do with being rifled.

The downside to a fully rifled bore is that it restricts you pretty much to sabot slugs, though you can shoot Foster slugs out of them if you don't mind scrubbing soft lead out of your bore every 5 shots or so. I've ditched every fully rifled barrel that I had with the exception of a cantilever barrel for my 870 20 gauge. The upside of the interchangeable choke tubes is that you can get extended tubes that are rifled and in my experience work fairly well for Foster-type slugs (less than a pie plate at 100m with irons level of accuracy)...

I would like to be able to shoot slugs and buckshot, ergo my lack of interest in rifled.
