I have a new one of these. It function very well with full loads but winchester trap loads only cycle the action 50 % of the time. Any one with experience have any help to give me. The local 3 gun use mainly these trap load for the matches.

Make sure the O ring is in properly.

Also, lube it generously and shoot some break in rounds.

After a bit should loosen up.

I agree. Sounds like your oring is not right.
On mine I also polished the mag tube to a shine with some wet sand paper started with 600 grit and finished with1000.
Thousands of rounds through mine now without a hickup!

Polish that mag tube! That and a very light coat of oil on it after and you should notice a big improvement. A firm grip helps too.

From what I have read *most* of the issues with these shotguns cycling light loads comes from the o-ring not being installed correctly.

Oh and to add.. I have one. It works great and will even cycle my light 7/8oz reloads.

The piston should travel freely on the mag tube and the piston ring should enter the gas collar with only slight resistance.
The piston can, with use, be deformed at its base and may bind slightly on the magazine tube. You may need to have the internal diameter of the piston relieved to counter this.
If the piston ring fits too tightly into the gas collar, you may experience incomplete lockup and failure to fire. While this is not the described problem, it is good to be aware of the possibility.
You do have a five year warranty on this shotgun.
