This is quite interesting. FOpen seems to have really concentrated on 2-3 brands/options for quite a few items and some are quite different than FTR.
Nightforce still way in the lead for scopes in both category, I wonder which model is the most used now between the BR, NXS or Competition.

.308 Winchester crashing at 800 yards is old irrelevant news - we suggest attending FClass or TR match and watch the boys pop them in the V Bull @1000 yards or match rifle to 1200 such as at Bisley.

The "800 issue" came about and we have seen, with ammo loaded with the 168 grain Sierra MK. Bullets, which tumble when they slow down to transonic. Designed by Ferris Pindell(one of PPC guys) in the 60s for 300 meter international comps and is very accurate but is short and there has been detailed analysis by ballisticians and data derived from Doppler radar data indicating instability at longrange. This phenomena was further spread by CAD sniper rounds using this bullet and have seen them hitting sideways at 900-1000. Sierra was the first to develop their 155 MK for 1000 yards and this bullet is still popular along with new products from them and major manufacturers. Where there is no bullet weight limit, Berger dominates with low drag match bullets and now others are trying to catch up.

Ahh.... now it makes perfect sense.
Thanks for sharing, I had no idea 308 crashes at 800 yards.
