So I have been thinking about buying a Mossberg 464SPX for a while now, there is just something about the old meeting the new that appeals to me, and I just noticed that Wholesale Sports has them instock but they have it listed as a "restricted item". Did I somehow miss this being reclassed for some reason?

I do believe they have that "Restricted ITEM" listed meaning you need a valid PAL to purchase and not just any jaggov can pick one up. Not to be mistaken with a Restricted Firearm.

They seem to have made it clear as mud though haven't they

Not at all, it's just Mossberg cashing in on the latest craze- "tactical cowboy action"cou:
Cat

I can't wait to get mine and mount my 6-24x 50 Spiral Fluted(for rigidity) sniper scope and take it out to the long distance range.
Btw, what slope of rail do you think I'll need to get that out to 1000.

I noticed this earlier , I think it's a problem with their new website. I was looking at a new marlin xt that was listed as "restricted" and thought wtf?

Barrel length is 16.5 in the photo
Doesnt that make it restricted

Only Semi-Auto, Centerfire firearms are held to the 18.5" barrel rule in order to remail Non-restricted.

Because of this, all manual action and rimfire firearms are not forced to meet a specific barrel length requirement, but rather only meet the over all length requirement of 26".

The 26" law also only applies to firearms that are fireable while shorter then 26" through any means of folding or telescoping. Due to the way the law is written, some firearms like the Mares leg and Rossi Ranch Hands that come in at an over all length of 24" are nonrestricted.

Yeah, I think someone's got their panties in a knot for nothing. Look for powder - restricted item too, bullets - nope, primers - yup. Not saying it is restricted as in a restricted firearm, just there are restrictions on them be it shipping concerns, (R)PAL required or whatever.
