Lets see where this one goes...

I can't remember how much the hammer fee is for these types of auctions and I guess they have to charge tax as well. At it's current bid of $3500 what would this price out too the winners doorstep?

All that money and the cylinder release latch still goes the wrong way

Ha,ha.... morning coffee out the nose!

NAA.

I think buyers fees are a rip off , this is a new thing and it just doubles the intake for the auction company, and Burns , most colt guys can manage smith, I know it is very tough on you guys , Than D. Wesson entered .
All I know , I was always selling them too cheap.

Impressive.

The P7 and PPC9 did not fetch much interestingly.

Well, the P7 was missing all of the tools which probably hurt it by a few hundred but yes, I would have thought 2500-ish or better plus fees. As it is 2250 is 2587.50 plus tax and shipping so it could be close to 3K all in depending on where you live. Still, a lot less than the $3450 ++ the last one went for at Switzers.

I agree the PPC9 was cheap.

I'm of the school of thought that there is a lot more to Python pricing than just The Walking Dead. Unlike the S&W 29, Pythons have been out of production for nearly 30 years......and it's not just Pythons, all the "snake" guns command high prices. Witness King Cobra's at 2K+

edit I think that this is particularly true in the Canadian market. According to statistics we have a steadily growing number of RPAL holders but a finite supply of collectible guns like the Python. Barring any outside forces (read Government interference) it only makes sense that prices will continue to be strong.

It's not just Canadian... the us snake pricing is even higher than ours.

That gun in auction sold for 4900 plus %15 auction fees and tax... that would be 6367 if it sold to an Ontario buyer. Pretty crazy

Plus shipping!!! LOL! That's pretty out there. It takes two buyers to really want something to drive up an auction like that so there's at least one more person willing to pay big bucks for a Nickle Python with all the goodies.

But it just goes to show you... that these pythons are steady climbing in price. I follow these threads and there are always a few who keep saying the snake guns are just a fad and will fall in value. Sure doesn't look like. No one is going to pay 6k for one and then sell for less.
I Don't think walking dead is a factor on these prices either, probably more along the lines of being such an amazing pistol that nothing else really comes close.
And no... a 686 isn't close lol.

You know what they say about a fool & his money
I've owned a 357 Python & a 38 Diamond Back ,
Wile they were nice vintage pistols I don't regret selling them .
Personally I prefer vintage S&W ;)
