and can understand why they would make a .22 for training,but have recently come across one in .410.Any one know what the significance of this is?Was it some sort of trainer also?

Also used by the guards at the internment camps in Canada. my Great uncle was a guard, he showed me how to shoot with his. I have one but it was sporterized. Great for chickens (partridge)...

Enfield Trainers

The 410 Enfields I have won't chamber a regular 410 shell.
I do have a round in 410 but it is a 303 base with breass wrapped around the main part and crimped. Looks like an old wrapped 577 round.
I think the sporter 410's might have had their chambers reamed out to take the modern ammo.

Large numbers of LEs were converted to .410 Musket ctg in India for police use. The ctg was a .303" case straightened out and loaded with a single ball or buckshot. Many have been converted to use regular 410 ammo by rechambering for commercial sale.

What you have is an Ishopore converted LE. They used the expanded .303 ammo. The one I have is 21/2 " regular .410 ammo. Apparently done in England , to conform to the ridgid firearm regulations after WW11. Not many big bore are allowed to be fired, most guns now are shotguns and small bore. I beleive under 25 caliber.

Actualy they don't use an expanded .303 case they just skipped the step in the loading process where the case was necked down after adding the cordite.
