Since ive been a member of this forum and buying my Norinco m14s. Ive heard alot of people mention that they have gotten their m14's to where they "ping" or ring while operating the action and putting the safety on .

Ive also seen some videos online where you can hear this sound almost like a bell ring when a cartridge is fired .

Ive spent the better part of 6 months trying to figure this out on my own yet have no idea the truth behind ive only found speculation. So could someone possibly show me , or explain to me what it is that makes the m14 ring , and if this is normal ?

The ping is from the Flash suppressor, its design makes it into tuning fork. Some have it really loud and clear and some not so much. Some muzzle breaks or other manuf suppressors/flash hiders have a ping too.

Some believe it means the free floating making the ping became more audible. But some suppressors don't ping that much, So.....?

Hungry..?

Boils down to harmonics, but if it ceases to ping, check your privates for an AWAL member:rolleyes:
