Have to be careful

I'm suggesting another possible be careful scenario...

a 30-30 in a 30-06 ..

i wonder if the rim would have anything to say about it?

I don't think it should be a problem if you keep your ammo in their original boxes, or it least seperated. Plus, hopefully, you'll ALWAYS look at the headstamp before loading the ammunition into your firearm.

Eagleye, Were you at the rifleman's rodeo shoot when I was shooting 270 with scope and 30-06 iron sighted? Laid out my five rounds for the 30-06, got in good prone postion, and never touched a target! I couldn't see, but the guys said my bullets were hitting the ground about 50 yards down range!
I guess you have it figured out, fired five 270 rounds through the 30-06!!
Life's darkest moment, didn't think I would ever tell anyone.
Can't remember if you were one of the guys who gave me a bad time, or not!

I was there, and guilty as charged!! :D;) I once fored a 7mm Mag out of my 30-338....same scenario bullet hit the ground about 50-60 yds away. perfect 30-338 brass after the fact though!!!! Regards, Eagleye.
