Have y'all noticed something in the Exchange?

6) The kicker, they have a crap gun, but it means alot to them, so they want what they 'emoitionally' feel its worth...and if they don't sell it, they are usually still happy.

Ayup, and those are typically the same people who don't respond well to "gentle hints" about their prices. Anything you offer on their dear Uncle Elmer's Cooey, with hand-carved initials on the stock, is going to be an insult.

Meindals would be a poor choice for your hutning, anyway!

Ok Gatehouse, I plead my ignorance.... WTF are Meindal boots????!!!!! :?: :|

Miendal boots are high quality European mountianeering boots. Many hiklers and alpine hunters use them.

My foot is 10 1/4 long, measured along the sole of my foot. My new boots were made with 4EEEE plus extra width, which made the Meindals too narrow for me.

And then we have to ask the question: "DO women prefer long and narrow, or do they prefer large girth?" :D

........."Do you wanna know what i was offered for it when I was XX age?" and he goes, "Five thousand dollars, but it was a gift, so I wouldnt part with it".

That was the day two fools met. One offered and the other refused!

I find some gun prices high too , not sure in my NIB Winchester Apache is too high at $375 , but I know it's lower then any store who has one . I know it's not a gun most would want to buy and use but they sure were a hot item years back with people just snapping them up for $1000 or so !

I have noticed pricing the same with private sales of cars and trucks with prices quite often more than a dealer would ask or wanting big $$'s for a POS ! :?

I think the prices are just right. Otherwise you would have to buy all the deals and you would run out of room to store all your purchases! :D

I really could care less if stuff is overpriced. I just don't consider it is all.

complaining about someones prices ? dont buy it , pretty simple other than wine that people want to much for there stuff, sales go with seasons , you realy dont want to hear my asking price for the 900 mountain cat with pipes and headwork done in november do you ? but come may/june she would be yours for 1000-2000 less or more off, why buy a rifle during hunting season when you can wait until febuary and get it for half the price

maybe off topic should come back so we dont get garble in the rifle and hunting forums :D

I dont think this is off-topic material at all.....as a matter of fact, it is directly associated to one of the main parts of this site; the Exchange Forum.

My point is, if things are overpriced and thus, no one is selling or buying, they will go elsewhere.....and that won't be a good thing for CGN.

I simply saw a potential problem and am asking others if they noticed....obviously they have, so my question was worth asking.

There is no such thing as "over priced" in a general sense... only on a personal level.

That is because, a thing is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

We are all prisoners of want and need - the only question left is: "how much are we willing to pay for our freedom?"

I don't see the prices here dissuading people from coming to this site any more than the prices at a gun show cause people to stay away. The seller gets to set the price he wants and the buyer decides if it suits him.

What I'll pay top dollar for might not be what you'd consider a fair price and vice versa. So far I've had excellent dealings on this forum both buying and selling and I don't see that changing no matter how "optimistic" some sellers are in setting their initial price.

Im liking the feedback......agree and disagree....some have noticed and said so, some have noticed and said nothing, some don't care, some didn't notice etc......

popcan ""a thing is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it"" Very true.

My point is, if things are overpriced and thus, no one is selling or buying, they will go elsewhere.....and that won't be a good thing for CGN.

They will go where? Is there another board where people happily pay way too much for these items?

What I would like to know is, are you suggesting a solution to the problem as you see it? What, we should all get together and FORCE people to post prices we find acceptable?

An example of what percieved over pricing is all about. Someone sells an AG42B is Canada. Here, the asking price is usually $250-$350 depending on condition. Sometimes they sell quickly, other times not. Across the line, they would sell for $500.00USD in a heartbeat, often much more. So what does overpriced mean?
