Have you always wanted an MP5K-ish gun?- Introducing the Lusa 9mm Restricted!

Shot one of mine today.

VERY accurate! With an extended hold with my left hand over the mag well, I had no trouble making blowouts at 10 yards and tight groups at 25, even with the very rudimentary sights. With a folding stock this will be a very nice carbine.

Put 150 rounds through it with one muckup by me where I bumped the mag release accidentally, and one light primer strike. Other than that the gun ran absolutely flawlessly with feeding, firing, and ejecting.

Regarding the mag dropping, I now realize the reason for the mag well being so oddly long - you can hang onto it for support without disrupting the magazine itself. K-grip not required. :)

The barrel profile is stupid simple go replicate from a 9mm barrel blank. Any manufacturer and even a gunsmith should have no issue making a non restricted length.

Very happy with mine. Thanks Steve and crew!

Just cheap Remington UMC 115gr FMJ. I'll have to pick up some Blazer aluminum, steel case Tula, and some hollowpoints to really put it through its paces.

I may consider ordering a "weldment set" as they call it from HK Parts and see if I can have the diopter drum added in place of the flat rear.

When the magazines are offered for sale will it be posted in this thread? Or do I need to monitor somewhere else?

Thanks

Woohoo! Came in the mail today! This is one cool gun, can't wait to fire it.

I'm with holding judgement, but I found a few concerning things (I'm hoping someone can alleviate my concerns, i'm no expert).

Is that rust???

Took a clean rag and wiped the inside of the mag well, orange "rust" came out on the rag.

didnt use any cleaners/solvents/etc - Should I use something? Also if I get rid of it by doing that - is it going to come back?

These pics are little disheartening to me. I hope all of them aren't in this shape when more people start receiving them.

Considering Lusa stopped production some time ago, and the supplier has these guns as new original stock, I'm going to assume they were all from the same storage facility and likely stored the same. Might be hit or miss, or all the same. As declare said, a little baba paint should fix everything once cleaned up.

Looks like (1) a poor quality of anti-corrosion coating on the metal at the factory, and possibly (2) a lack of proper application of any anti-corrosion oil or grease at the armory or warehouse when they were put into long term storage (like cosmoline or any modern equivalent of it). But that's just a guess from the photos.
Might require some buffing out of it, and then a re-treatment of the metal to keep the rust at bay.

I am STILL waiting for any status update on mine.
