Have you always wanted an MP5K-ish gun?- Introducing the Lusa 9mm Restricted!

Looks like (1) a poor quality of anti-corrosion coating on the metal at the factory, and possibly (2) a lack of proper application of any anti-corrosion oil or grease at the armory or warehouse when they were put into long term storage (like cosmoline or any modern equivalent of it). But that's just a guess from the photos.
Might require some buffing out of it, and then a re-treatment of the metal to keep the rust at bay.

I am STILL waiting for any status update on mine.

Waiting for RCMP transfer approval.

Got mine today. Stripped it and looked inside, same rust colour but it's not rust at least didn't rub off on my finger. Mag was very tight, ground down the rivet with a dremel, oiled surface on both mag and mag well. Much better as I can now pull it out easily, had to push and pull hard before. Compared to my original (first one in Canada), new one won't fit, too tight and rubbing. Original mag drops free in both guns. I measured the back top of each mag, the new one is 1.837 vs 1.828 so this is probably where it's rubbing. The aluminum plug holding in the recoil spring is very tight and had to tap it out, original pops out easily. The bolt has been redesigned and coated, it won't fit the original gun, assume it's the coating. The original bolt fits the new gun and drops in with a slight tap, the new one had to be pushed in, just needs to be shot a lot. The dummy barrel I got with the original is a barrel blank, slightly shorter than the new one. The quality is what you would expect from a <$1k gun, not to be compared to the Famae,B&T TP9 and other high end subs. Definitely need a couple of side folders, picatinny rail would be nice if some could be found.

Mine looks the same as that. I used a brass brush and WD40 and it won't come off. If it's rust it's DAMN DURRABLE RUST!

I don't think it's rust, though I'd be hard pressed to say what it is at all. Maybe iron oxide from heating the metal stamping in the presence of oxygen? (Trying to sound smart here and recall my welding class)

these have been sitting in a warehouse for a while so i guess we get what we get.

my thoughts,
1) i was thinking about getting an hk lower for this but after seeing it in person, i think the lower is fine.
2)the mags are extremely solid (steel) unlike the polymer mags for the tp9 and famae. so no broken feed lips in the future.
3) not a fan of the sights.
4) i need a stock for this.
5) as others have said tight fit for mags in the magwell but that may improve with use.
6) barrel is very easy to change/remove. with the barrel removed it looks just like an mp5k

overall not bad at all for the price. :)

i was lurking on the irg cdn site today just in case the mags were up and scored the last 2 p30/vp9 mags they had for cheap. so its been a very good day :)

Alrighty, finally, shipping notice received.

I know what the delay was now. Makes sense. Steve was saving the best Lusa for last. Mine will have no rust in the chamber or mag well, the mag will slip in easy and drop free slick as s####, and,... the barrel will be chrome lined. Yeah, that must be it. :d ;)
Looking forward to seeing it.

Well, after a little drilling and installing a liberal-lock - She's at home in her new spot.

Looks like I only have room for one more pistol before I start digging out more walls....I don't think the wife will be as forgiving a second time around ;)

docShay,

You have good taste in firearms my friend.

That is a lovely set up and I'd like to do something similar to your display.

Very cool set up. I like that ALOT.
I personally couldn't do it as I'd have too many people wanting to touch and caress them and only I may do that
