have you changed the brake/flash hider on your xcr

Thinking of a change and wondering if anybody has changed theres out? If so what model did you go with and was it worth it? I have a .223 if that matters.

I thought about it but heard that it was such a biatch to get off that I decided to get a gunsmith to do it... and never got around to it.

I did.
Filed a flat spot, marked the welds with a punch.
Used a small drill bit to start, slowly stepped up the size.
Took about an hour because I was using a hand held drill not a press.
Use some kind of barrel vise, take the barrel off.


I went with the PWS triad. I quite often post that I'm a BIG fan of it, so much that I'm looking for a bigger version for my 6.8.

Does anyone know where to get Troy Claymore brakes in 5/8x24 and 1/2x28 in Canada? I was going to put one each on my XCR L and M, but they are apparently "significant military equipment" and Brownells won't ship them.
