Have you ever broken a firing pin?

Happens most often with rimfires that have been dry fired a lot. There were some old low value family guns with broken pins, a single shot 12 G among them. They'd been dry fired by two or three generations of kids I'm guessing. My brother and I hand-filed new pins for a couple of them and they worked pretty well until they finally gave up the ghost completely. My brother was working on a final-solution carbide pin for the shotgun (using a stud for a snowtire) but never finished it; I'd've loved to know if that would have worked out.

Xcr are notorious for breaking firing pin.

Had one break on a 1951 high standard sport king bought used, made one on an old punch using a drill@files still works thirty years now.

One pistol (Star 22 short target pistol), one rifle (Swing) in the last 55 years. Don't know how many rounds of shooting, but I do regularly fill garbage cans with empty brass.

Springfield Armory M1 Garand (2005 reproduction) broke firing pin...probably cheap cast part or mil spec surplus 50 years old ?

Broke a pin on some old decrepit single shot 12 gauge. Can't remember the brand but it was nothing special and very very beat up.

I have a friend who broke the firing pin on an antique Marlin lever action by dry firing it over and over. Not smart.

Not so far. I like to switch up the firearms I bring to the range a lot so think it should be a while before a pin goes.

After reading a few of these posts, I think I'll pick up a spare for my TT33 while they are still available.

Or a spare pistol. Got a Norc to help share the burden with my Russian.
