GECO started life as Gustav Genschow & Co. The company was seized from Jewish owners when the Nazis took over the German arms industry.
It is now only an ammunition company, as far as I know, but used to wholesale a wider range of shooting supplies also.
They offered their own branded guns until the 1970s, contracted from Belgian, Spanish or E. German makers.

That's about all they shoot in German ranges. Comes in pretty blue boxes.
Nothing wrong with their handgun ammo. They made some cool defensive rounds back in the early 90s called the BAT. Not sure if they still have them.
Never tried their rifle ammo.

Tagged for interest. Would like to know more about their 9mm and 223.

Their 124gr 9mm has a MV of 1181fps. On the hot side?

edit: It appears that the bullets are bi-metal, according to targetsportsusa.

I use their 7.62x39 ammo that comes in 50 rd box.

I pulled open about 20 of them, powder weight consistency is pretty good, projectiles weights are definitely not match grade quality. Brass was annealed at the neck from factory, very pretty.

Overall positive experience with their ammo, load is on the hot side for x39 (base on my empirical feeling).

The red box geco is laoded hot, and bimetal jackets. So no good for indoor ranges. Mostly the bimetal jackets, but was really snappy out of a Glock 26.

so it won't shoot well in anyone's match grade SKS?

All I know is my CZ527 doesn't like them, 2~3 inch group at 100 yrd, compare to 1 inch group from my reloads (using Geco brass).

They run fine in all my SKSs, cycled the action and no misfire. Cannot comment on the accuracy though. Only time my SKSs get feed with $1.3 ammo is at the indoor range and when my guest pays for the ammo.

Yep, the red box stuff is noticeably hot--I can tell which rounds are Geco and which are AE just from the amount of muzzle flash...and recoil...and general awesomeness. Reliable out in Van had a sale of Geco around Canada Day--330ish a case then, which was a great deal, as I tend to pay 20-22$ for 50 rds local.

Its good stuff, no real complaints, much happiness with how it shoots.

I paid 214$ USD shipped to my door last October. In USA. Used it for USPSA... Was a bit hot out of a 3.5" Glock 26 lol functioned fine, good brass too.
