Yes I hate bolt actions - with the exception of the old milsurps and war horses and those sweet little CZ .22 bolt guns.
I know they are more accurate, I know they are more reliable and I know they are the strongest actions out there...but I don't care. I like guns with character. I love the rattly lever actions and love the old Uberti repros. I love the graceful single shots like the Ruger No.1 - you can get a tack driving varminter No.1 with a 24" pipe that handles like a .30-30 or a Daisy BB gun! My current ride is a Springfield M1A. Even for hunting this thing handles well and everyone that has shot it tends to do well with it too.
I dunno what it is. I look at these new bolties coming out with their factory bedded stocks, adjustable triggers and they can run groups .5~.75 MOA all day long...and they bore me. Just my two cents, if you worship at the alter of the bolt gun - may the hunting gods smile on you and bless you with success.
