Hey guys,
A friend of a friend saw a wild boar on his land north of Saskatoon. From what I heard, it was a tough bastard to bring down. I've lived in Saskatchewan all my life and have never seen any wild pigs. Doesn't mean they don't exist around here. Has anyone seen wild pigs anywhere else in the country?

Yes, just south of where I live. I Got one with a bow and my buddy got the other with a rifle. Very good eating. We got them about 5 years ago. They are kicking around. If you can watch the documentary called pig bomb. It's filmed in the southern states. As well If I'm not mistaken their numbers are slowly starting to increase through the western provinces. Every now and then I hear of guys getting them around the area

We found what we suspect is rooting on several fields we hunt this fall. Local rumour has it that wild pigs/boars were spotted around five or six miles away, it would be the first time for them in our little part of Manitoba's Interlake. I'll be carrying a rifle on an even more regular basis I guess...

Around my domaine in France i have big bunchs of wilds boars romming freely true the gravevine and the cherry trees, hunting is forbideen but they are huge and always travel like a running train... JP.

On the map they show 2 kills in ontario, one near Chatham and one near scugog. Can anyone conferm these? By chance are those near any game farms/high fence opperations? "Sightings" are just that, many people have seen bigfoot, but no one is claiming they shot him. Lots of reasons to see a pig, or somthing that might be a pig. I fear they would do well in ontario. Too many citiodits and yuppie farmers that cant even control the coyotes.

JP,

there is no hunting association in your village?

All the forest and lands around Aix-Alpes Provence- Cote d'azur is consider a natural reserve, specials lands are reserved for special hunts, it is very complicated to hunt here, i am not to interrested to go hunting since my wife an i spend 12 weeks a year over there and so many cool things to do and tons of place to visit, and miss caramel would not like me starting to do what i do all the time here... JP.

Yup see 9 this season on my land, a big sow and 8 piglets about a foot tall. My neighbour has pics of a boar in his trail cam. This is in central manitoba and there is some areas to the west they are having alot of problems down in the river valleys of corn and potato fields. The ones I seem came out of the bush about 275 yards away, headed on an angle towards us. I didn't have a rifle because I was fencing but I went up to the hunting shack with my brother and his friend when they came out, the friend took a shot and missed while my brother was waiting for them to come closer. We tried to follow there tracks and figure out where they were staying but pretty sure they were just passing thru

If you see any that you feel comfortable posting on wildboarcanada.ca please do it. I understand if you don't want to on your hunting land or own property.

Thanks man :)
