Get a .22 and a .45 and you'll have two accurate calibers and many models of handguns to choose from as you can see from this forum.. If you run into a financial drought, the .22 will give you a lot of mileage. If I were starting again, that's what I'd do. But history shows I'd just end up buying more guns of each caliber. It's a terrible disease. Beware that you might not be able to restrain your purchases.
