having trouble with my winny 94 AE scope mounting

I want to mount a scope on my winny 94 ae, it's a 1983 and having lots of trouble finding anything, bought a set kwik-site see thru and I would have to shim the rear base or put a piece of plastic in the ring to shim up the scope, bought a set of weaver see thru and the same thing, weaver bases are 94 and 95 except the early models which mine is, I really don't want to shim anything, help!
