hello im looking at a hawk varmint 6-24x44 going to run me $235 at a local gun shop , does anyone have any experience with hawk scopes i have seen good videos and reviews on them on the web and have seen one but i would like more opinions and experiences before i make a purchase

I have no experience with that particular scope but I do have 2 hawke scopes. One I haven't mounted yet and the other is on a 22mag. I bought 1 via mailorder and when it arrived it had some light leakage from the IR recticle. Contacted hawke and sent it back and they sent me a new one without any hassle. The optics on the 2 I have are pretty decent and zeroing the one I'm using went without issue and the adjustments seemed accurate.
I downloaded their recticle software and it was accurate when I went from 100 to 200 yard shooting with the 22mag.

I have a Hawke Varmint in 3-12 and I am more than happy with it. I have used it on .22LR and .223 without any problems. For the money it's really hard to beat.

I have a Hawk 4.5-14 side focus on a Savage .270. I really like it. Alot. I find the glass to be very clear and bright. The turrets can be zeroed and it has held zero perfectly well since I bought it. If I dial the turret 20 clicks up the POI raises 5" exactly as expected, dial it back down 20 clicks and it returns to the original POI. I've played with this scope for a good 300 rounds of various handloads. I have my turrets are set to "0" for my 150gr Nosler Partition load but I know where they need to be set for 110 Vmax, or 130gr SP, etc.. I write my turret setting on the lids of my handload boxes so when changing ammo choice I just set the turrets to whatever I have written on the lid and head into the field with confidence.

I purchased mine at Gagnon Sports, but it was over $550. I forget the exact price. I will be buying another one soon after Xmas, 4.5-14 is too much scope for the 270. I would like one wit less magnification and I will put this one on my HMR.

I bought a Hawke 3-9x panorama ( assuming you mean the Hawke brand? ) and for a 1" tube scope the image is incredibly bright and clear.. and i mean incredibly.. side by side with a VX3 leupold and the Hawke wins hands down..

I like the reticle as well. have it on my AK but it wil move to my .223 Tikka

I bought a Hawke 6X24-50 Eclipse. Don't waste your money on this model. Even with the 30mm tube and 50mm objective it is no better than the Bushnell Banner 6-24X40 I have. Quite cloudy at high magnification.

Got a 6.5-20x42 tactical that I use to throw around on a bunch of rifles. For the coin you can't go wrong. I have shot out to 1250 yards with it. It holds zero, adjust well and I can see what I'm shooting at. Would buy one again.

What was that with? 308 or bigger? I was interested in replacing my Bushnell 10x40 with something with a big more magnification on my 308.
