I have the 4.5-14x42 Sidewinder 30, I've had it for a few years now. I also have Leupold, Tasco, Kahles, Minox Bushnell 4200,6500 and Sightron to compare with. The Sidewinder series of Hawke Optics are a very good value IMHO. The optics are clear and have good definition in low light for the money you spend. The trade off is they are heavy for their size. I would say they are very robust too, mine has spent a lot of time bouncing around on different truck guns over the years. It tracks well, keeps zero and has an illuminated reticle that doesn't cast glare inside the tube as most do in my experience . This is my go to scope for new acquisitions too, it has a generous eye box and has fit well on everything that has worn it.
