Just noticed this, Cat. No, I have only owned this particular rifle for about a year and a half.
I'd never had a rifle of this caliber until getting this one. Probably what I had back then was the .50 cal. Lyman Great Plains rifle I shot for quite a few years. Very similar in configuration (being one of the best commercial-production Hawken replicas) with all browned furniture, but nowhere near as "lovely" as this one.

Sorry Grant, I was actually replying to Talopr Sapergia's post about that big .62 being "one of his children"!

I will never forget that rifle with it's reddish color finish and tight fiddleback stock, let alone how ell Mr. Sapergia shot the danged thing!
