I "get" the 5 round mag.....but changes are a PITA....so I spent the day figuring out this. I made a couple of prototypes out of walnut (I had some ) and then switched to UHMW plastic.

Thoughts?

It attaches with a couple pan head screws driven through the floor plate. I did it this way A: because it's easy, and B: if you drill a bit off center, there is some adjustment.

I only made three extras....I'm trying to find a more workable plastic and may make more, but as it sits I'd have to charge 30 bucks each simply due to how long it takes to deal with this plastic type (it melts when cutting....need something cleaner)

I can't cut through just due to the nature of the plastic.... Once I get deeper than about 3/8 the plastic grabs the bit. If I can find better material, right through won't be a problem though.

I think your original design suited the looks of the RFB better; the recess and the rounded holes matched the lines of the receiver. Just my 2 cents.

x2 I've also had good success with ABS as well. If you finalized a design, it'd be pretty easy to make a fast split mold and resin cast a bunch for only a few bucks worth of material.

Nope, still looking for a mount/riser....anybody know of a one piece mount that has a picatinny mount on top of the rings but sits lower than the PEPR mount? (would like 3/4"'between the top of the rail and the bottom of the scope...the PEPR is 1")

Delrin is a brand name of a plastic called Acetal. Just in case you find it under that name. It machines nicely. ABS is not as strong as Delrin and in my experiance does not machine as well.

Just remembered how much I hate working with Delrin. I have had to evacuate and shut down a factory more than once...it doesn't play well with others lol.

The stuff will catch on fire easily and the flame is very hard to see. Not good when a bunch of fluff can accumulate.

A: I HAVE the 5 round...why spend 50.00 on a new mag.

B: the 20/5's are too long...esp. For a hunting rifle

C: I made them because I have the materials, tools, and time.
