Hello Everyone,

What is the head stamp on the recent batch of 7.62x39 on Stripper Clips? Are they made in the 70s or post 2000?

Given the style of spam can used, I am having a hard time believing that this stuff is made in the 70s.

Thanks.

Headstamp on Chinese surplus typically indicates Factory number on top and two-digit year on bottom.

Edit I have seen some that don't fit this pattern. But the above pattern is the standard.

I didn't know we had a Recent Batch come in. I was under the impression that since the Russian ammo import ban and that a lot of stockpiles are being sent to Ukraine that we hadn't seen new imports in a while?

Also, I don't think I've ever seen new-ish production in spam cans, or on strippers. Both those things sound like cold-war era production?

There's no ban for "Russian ammo". There are sanctions in place that prohibit dealing with certain companies from Russia. There's a literal list of those companies names. That doesn't not always prevent importing Russian commercial, surplus and/or USSR surplus ammo.
I am not aware about any Chinese ammo being diverted to Ukraine. I usually know these kind of things. Chinese and North Korean artillery shells show up with invading RU forces, though. There's no shortage of small arms ammunition with UA forces or RU forces.

Dimp - What does "Russian ammo import ban" have to do with the Chinese MS on strippers? OP wasn't talking about Russian - I believe it's the Tenda MS on strippers. It costs a bit more than the cans of ammo w/o strippers- see Bulk ammo there.
I haven't seen any Russian MS for a long time.

This is the ammo I am referring to. Has anyone opened a can? What is the head stamp? Trying to figure out the date of manufacture as the cans are now painted with no markings.
