This is a to satisfy my curiosity. I have a bunch of .223/5.56 cases with the stamp "L C 0 7" spaced around the head. I'm assuming that the "0" and "7" are the standard military year of mfg.
Now the questions - does L C designate Lake City manufacture and if these are military cases then why were the primers not crimped in?
I have very seldom used military brass but all I have had experience with have had crimped in primers.
Thanks

They are probably not .223, but military 5.56. Lake City, 2007. They have probably been commercially reloaded, the process includes removing the military crimp.

lake city 2007. likely off the SCAMp line (little dots on HS)

Federal uses that brass for both 223 and 5.56

FYI crimp would be annular (ring) not stab. The 223 can be either with or not.
