Head to head battle - Tikka T1X verses CZ 453 Varmint

Thanks Chevy for the good in depth post. I'm thinking of maybe getting a Tikka in the new year so this post was of particular interest to me.

I'm curious as to the scopes that are on the rifles. What brand and specs are they? Are the barrels 16 inch or longer??

It looks like CCI velocitor ranked right up there for both rifles. That's been a good accurate round for my 10/22 and a great performer on small game.

This is fantastic to see, as others have said thankyou for posting the results! I have always wanted to do exactly this but then I would need to buy a CZ 457 which I just couldn't justify. Seeing them at matches before my injury I did find they seemed to do better overall with more ammo than my T1X. While my Tikka shoots fantastic and holding for wind can be half that battle if not more at 100 Yards for me it was nice to see a straight comparison.

You may have persuaded me to look hard at a CZ myself just for the sake of it, as having a rifle that does well with multiple types of ammo would be nice to have. My T1X only likes two boxes and they aren't cheap and aren't always easy to find (I will give you a hint one is black and the other is red.) Having a rifle with the potential to still do well with more cost effective measures would be nice.

Plus who can knock a CZ that has the ability to switch barrels on the fly like that.

That's a lot of testing - thanks for sharing! I just got a CZ American and haven't even started really testing it, but I think a Tikka T1x might be my next rimfire purchase.
