Head-to-Head: Sig P210-6 Vs. Sig Sauer X5-L1 "The sequel"

I just picked up a x5 super match and a sig p210 legend .... just waitin for the transfers to go through. I do have to say this tread definitely a motivator to purchas them.

The much venerated Sig P210's were supposed to possess lengendary accuracy. The best accuracy that no one could afford, and Sig just couldn't make enough of them to satisfy demand.

An awkward design, ungainly balanced 9mm with a mediocre trigger, the P210 was always over-rated. And hugely expensive. It's a testament that the X5 outshot it. Sig is just like any other corporation, in that they make (and charge) what the market demands. How many years did GM make the truly horrible #####, S&W made the Sigma, the Springfield XD???

Even with no front barrel bushing the X5 has the advantage, and cheaper. Sig even made a compact P210! Ugh!

^ smh.......bet you think the Shadow 2 is accurate and that Glock is the finest service pistol ever made too.

Woah! Nice catch. I too was about to get either a X5 or X6 Super Match when I finally got a line on a X5-L1 as I personally prefer the look of the first gen X pistols.

The p210 just arrived !!!! It is unfired and in the grease still and my dad is giving me heck that I want to shoot it.. I don't think I will be able to resist shooting it

Shoot it, enjoy it - it's too nice to shoot not to shoot LOL! I shoot mine regularly and....well you'll see.

A fun afternoon at the range with a buddy and a 2nd outing for the X5-L1. It's still the most accurate 9mm pistol I've owned. Below is 150 rounds off hand at a measured 27 yards (25 meters). My buddy shot a few rounds at my target with his Python using .38 wadcutters while I was taking a leak... I was surprised to see these clean holes when I went to pick it up afterwards, they are marked with a sharpie pen.

Harry Callahan put a bug in my ear last evening in another post; was planning on taking the P210 out and added the X5 too at his suggestion. So figured I do my own little, non-scientific (I can't shoot worth a damn), comparo too and add to his origional post on the topic.

The players: A "Maple Leaf" X5 (an X5L1) vs. a Sig P210 Legend
Distance: measured 25M
Seated, slowfire, using a very sophisticated block of wood as a rest lol

Results - a split decision it looks like. The X5 did slightly better with my generic 124gn Campro plinking grade handloads, and which I shoot a whole lot more of. The P210 seemed to do a bit better with some 124gn XTP's that I loaded with particular care and attention to details just last night once the idea for this little contest looked like a thing to try today. The XTP's, not unexpectedly, also shot better than the Campro's no doubt.

Campro's X5 10 rds (one flyer off the chart) and P210 8 rds:
