My sad little .22 collection..... Have a couple Leupy rimfire scopes downstairs to add to the CZ & Ruger BUT am determined to have a quality rimfire in the collection!! The Grey CZ will complete the 1/2" challenge this spring due to Family & work constraints but I want a NICE rimfire to round things out. What do you all think of a Annie 1710? I have 6 kids with 4 in University so it has to stay within reasonable boundaries!! Dlask and Magnum Research always pique my interest but me thinks I'm a tried and true bolt fan....

I started with a couple of savages went on to CZ and then Annies. No regrets they shoot increadable. As for a 1710 the problem is the sporter weight trigger, but they are a 54 actions. If you're going to use it hunting and some range work it would be a good choice. If it's just target use save your money and get a MPR as they are much more bench friendly and have the awesome trigger, I think the 5098. Trigger is very light. My MPR shoots consistent .350 averages at 50 plus yards. It has shot many groups in the teens as well. Also is $600 less than a 1710.

Forgot to mention.I'm located in Kelowna if your close enough you can try my 2 anschutzs.
1813 supermatch in back,64 MPR in front both with Vortex HST 6-24x50 scopes on them.

First time I've heard of a rimfire collection with 2 CZ rifles in it described as "sad". Some nice irons there as I see it, but I get your meaning. I've been pining for an Anschutz for some time..and almost bought one around Christmas but decided to upgrade the scope on my .223 instead. An Anschutz may be the next (distant) goal. lol

Nice little collection!

I sold my Ruger, Savage MkII and 1x of my CZs and kept a Norinco NS522... it out-shot the other 3. ...but I also have an old 80's heavy barrel Anschutz that takes the cake.

I've had my CIL/Anschutz 310 for around 40 years, throw in a couple of 180's, and yes the 64 action is pretty good. Also have four CZ 452's. Personal opinion, the 452 has a better action. Was looking and thinking of a 54 action for quite a while so recently purchased a 1710 DKL. No comparison in the feel of the action. The 1710 is by far the superior gun. It is slightly heavier but feels real. Nordic had a sale a while ago and sent pics of their stock on hand, picked the one that spoke to me. Ran some Ely club and Match through it, done good for sure. Also does real well with CCI Std. Lovin' it, if funds permit, go for it.

A simple spring swaps makes the already good 1710 trigger even better

Yes, indeed. I reduced the trigger pull of my 1710 D HB and it is superb at about 12 ounces.

The 54 action is head and shoulders above the 64 action, especially the older 25mm receiver models. (The change to the more robust 26mm receiver came around 2009.)
Once you try the 54 it is hard to put it down.

Of course if a 54 is too hard on the budget, the MPR is a very good 64 action rifle, as Savagecanuck says. It has a nice, two-stage trigger and sits well on a front rest.

check out the test targets some dealers display on their website (prophet river). The difference between the 64's and 54's test targets are very small. If the 64 is what you can afford, have at it. I don't think there's a great difference in accuracy.
I've got a dlask as well with a relatively cheap green mountain barrel and I can fairly regularly make the 1/2 inch challenge. They're all good platforms, get whatever floats your boat.

The day may come when I sell all my 22's and get one Anschutz . . . either a 1710 or 1712 but I do like a classic stock.
The Remington is for BR50. The BSA Martini is for 100 yard/meter with target sights. Everything else are MOG's . . . Minute of Gopher guns.
