I just thought I would post this in case anyone is interested in a certain firearm. There is a fair selection of military weapons and this auction house will ship guns. But be aware. This auction house has a couple of big gun auctions per year. I have attended a few but usually the prices have gotten so crazy that I quit going. I am in no way associated with this auction house. I just thought there might be a certain gun that a forum member might be interested in.

I am planning to go there due to Lee Enfield NO.1 on list

though I don't have PAL, I plan to have either my brother or his friend to hold for me until I get my PAL

but I wonder how much I should expect to pay for NO.1 Lee Enfield

From what I have seen, you can expect to pay probably 25% (at least) more than you normally would. Plus you have to pay tax, and a $10.00 administration fee for each gun bought plus your gas to drive there. It usually ends up standing room only. So you take the amount of people that show up in person, online bidding, proxi bidding and telephone bidding, you can see why prices are crazy. People get caught up in the frenzy of the "bidding moment". And you aren't given much time to think about your next bid or it's gone. But sometimes you get lucky and might come across a deal if there are no other interested parties, but don't "bet" on it!

I have bought many milsurp rifles at on-line auctions and most of them were at very competitive prices compared to what I would have paid elsewhere including CGN. The few exceptions were guns that I just had to have, and even then, I set the amount I was willing to pay and there were no suprises, because I read and understood the terms of the auction.

Rather than just dismissing auctions as "stupid expensive", a thinking, disciplined person can take the following simple approach - know what you're willing to pay, know the various components of the total cost, and don't over-bid.

WOW that is an auction, A rasheed, cz52/57s, AIA enfields, and More, Im drooling...

Ah, the notorious Moreguns Supply stash.....
Pretty sure the Norc HP 9's are short barrelled and possibly pistol gripped which explains the restricted. That's what he was playing with the last time I was in the store before it was unceremoniously closed by the Winnipeg PD.
Some neat stuff for sure, the AIA's were hanging on the wall at the store fresh out of the box when they were seized. Unfortunately stuff at McSherry's has a reputation for going way higher than retail prices.
I think there's a way to Internet bid for out of towners.

Mcsherry's gun auctions are well known Manitoba events.

The prices are usually as described earlier "crazy high, stupid". $500 used SKS's, $400 mosins, $1000 lee enfields are par for the course there. Every year I plan to go but I skip it. Usually I know several people who are attending and after I'll phone them and it's ALWAYS "man I stood there crammed into that little room and watched guns sell for twice what they are worth all day!" ive yet to meet a single person who has bought a gun from there at an "auction price". Infact I've really yet to meet a single person who has even bought a gun from there.

I go to EVERY gunshow in Manitoba but I've yet to go to the Mcsherry auction as I've heard dozens of guys telling me the same old story.

It's really too bad cause I love to buy and sell guns so it would be great to have several auctions a year that I could go to and buy some new toys.

I bought 2 guns from there and that was a few years ago when they first started with the gun auction. One was a vintage Stevens hammer shotgun for $200.00 and one was a Mossberg 151K in really nice condition for $130.00. Since then though the prices have gone through the roof so I no longer go. I hear the same stories now as well, that being that the prices have gotten out of hand. Yet people continue to pay the prices.

I'm still waiting for one person to step forward and tell about the good deal they got on a modern gun. Not a book, box of ammo but a gun that was actually cheaper then buying from a store. Anyone?

Here in Alberta,I have been to a few auctions and have seen people buy current production .22 long rifle for three times the price of retail .Auction Fever, you just shake your head.

I know Moreguns had some legal problems, but what happend later.?? Did he get his guns back,..is he selling them at auction, or are they now in the hands of the RCMP and are they selling them ???
