Heads Up!!!....Magpul UBR

Gotta pay to play - simple as that.

No not really, when other stocks do the same shyte for much less money.

Unless you're playing on a 2-way range and you absolutely cannot live without the very few unique features of this stock, it's a rip-off.

In this case you definitely DO NOT have to pay to play.

I always wanted a UBR, ive got all the other magpul stocks. Just dont see any value in it at that price, ill stick with the CTR.

I guess it's kind of like Mini 14 long mags are 100.00 but AR mags are 30.00. I don't get it but if you need a stock for your AR you can get one for 80.00. But if you "want" what you think is uber cool, its 400.00. My good friend pays 2000.oo for a Scotty Cameron putter. W.T.F.? Who "needs" a 2000.oo putter to hit a ball three feet?? The answer is no one. But he really "wants" one. Get it?

Fair enough, I'll never out a guy for wanting to spend money and dress up his rifles....Do what keeps you interested in shooting.

Me, I'd rather spend the money on ammo, improve my marksmenship and firing skills. That's just me.
Fair enough also. I agree with this statement. Consider though, that most peoples available time is limited. I know mine is. Shooting, as fun as it is, takes time. You may have no more available time, but oodles of money that you wish to spend on your firearms. That's basically my situation.

Too much for me. I don't fold a stock in anyway. I prefer a full stock on even a shorty. We get fleeced for all AR stuff. Someone in Canada should come up with a Line for components and accessories. They can call it "ABI" angry beaver industries.

Well, if your looking to spend money, there's no shortage of ways with the AR 15.

If it weren't for foolish fanboys like me (and others) I think you'd all be stuck with airsoft and Norinco's

I'll keep posting pics of new kit so you don't get bored looking at the ads in the magazines.

When I get bored of it I'll sell it off to you cheap.

It's a win win....

:nest:

I suppose it's only expensive if you can't afford it.

6 AMC Pacers and 1000 liters of gas won't make you a cool looking sports car no matter how hard you try to believe it's the same.

I dunno, Magpul AR magazines are the best that have been manufactured to date. Are they overpriced? I don't think so, but some might. Trying to equate the simple cost of molded plastic to the actual price of the product, research, time, man hours, insurance, physical building assetts, employee costs, blah blah is not a realistic way of looking at things.

If the stock works for you, you like it, and you want to spend the money, why not?

I think anyone who would buy that much stuff for one rifle is nuts..

I don't own one but the UBR is one of the most solid stocks that I've handled and shot.

If my life was on the line then I would see no problem fielding this stock but it would not be a necessity. Training/shooting/trigger time/informed decision-making is a necessity.

I run an MOE on my AR and will be ordering an AFG. I train police and military folks and my kit gets a fair and objective work out, if I don't like it, it goes. Am I a Magpul whore? Nope. I run what I like.

Is the UBR, MOE or CTR better than the regular M4 stock... it's comparing potatoes and.... potatoes... it looks neat, it's solid but the regular kit also works.

Do you absolutely need one to shoot well and, if necessary, survive? NOPE... but I like mine and, if I went operational again, I'd carry their gear. My AR's will wear MOE's because I like the look and feel. My shotguns will wear regular M4 stocks because my boss doesn't buy my gun stuff, if he did, I'd have some cooler gear and I will probably never deploy with an SG or AR again!!

I get the feeling that some of the Magpul haters, hate Magpul because everyone has their gear, some people like it and some stuff is expensive.

What's next "I hate Daniel Defence or LMT or Valtor ? I mean no one NEEDS that stuff either... hell, most of the people on this site are not Mil or LEO.

Join the Fudd's if you hate a company or an accessory, MF's.

If a guy wants to pimp his AR then let him, the more who pimp, the more acceptable and fun shooting is seen to be!

Many Mil and LEO's can't pimp their kit and it ain't necessary in many cases but then again, if you're LEO your kit was picked based on price and some schmoosy sales guy who has ZERO time on the front line. If you're Mil, your issue kit was picked by some educated jerk who has never and will never deploy in harm's way!

Enjoy what makes you happy. If you deploy, test, use, sell if necessary.

You seem to be proud of being robbed of your money. Not sure why that is.

I can afford 20 of those stocks, it doesn't mean I'm gonna buy a single one. A rip-off is a rip-off, no matter how much money you got.

A Dodge Viper is a ripoff.....but I still want one. I see that even in our little black rifle community, we still have our resident fudds.

.

No way is a Dodge Viper a ripoff you can buy em cheap used! ;)

Im just having fun. But cmon everybody has to admit that paying almost $500 for an AR stock is kinda harsh.

What's the next most expensive anyway??

Have you tried buying a Swiss Arms butt stock?

Or a chunk of wood for a Purdey, Holland & Holland, or Westley Richards? Or how about a good pair of Swarovski binoculars? The high end items and their prices are not exclusive to this particular Magpul stock here in Canada. If you don't want to own high end stuff, so what. When you start buying gun parts for other people, then you can have a say in what they own or buy. Otherwise.....
