Tradeex has a few M1917 Danish conversions on their website.

Ive never really understood why certain countries reworked rifles the way they did. Like this and the Bavarian M1 carbines, why take a rather excellent sighting arrangement and make it worse?

That aside not a bad deal for someone who's in the market for one.

90% of people who hunt have no clue how a peep/aperture sight works. I think that is most of the reason.

Well. After thinking about it and did some research. They might not be so bad after all. Would be a good bookend for my Danish garand. And in the same calibre.

They have open sights, actually, there is a slot in the handguard so a blade can protrude out. The blades are still there.
Those are very interesting modifications. From what I gathered, only 1500 were made that way.

Here's how they were modified....

Note that some have the blade mounted the wrong side...

I wanted one. All gone and why don't these gun sellers get more of this type of rifle in. They are up to their arm pits in mausers. I don't want a stinkin mauser I already have one.

Are these rifles that tradex sold modified for the Sirius sledge patrol or after they were done with them? What kind of markings should be on the ones issued to the sledge patrol?
