With the talk about inherent accuracy being lower on a belted mag due to the headspace control coming from the belt rather than the shoulder, I gotta ask:

If you're using fireformed brass and necksizing only, isn't this a moot point???
 
Once the brass has been fireformed to your chamber, there isn't spit difference in the way a belted or non-belted case acts when you close the bolt, as long as you are neck sizing or partial sizing your brass. If you are full length sizing, you can still adjust your die so as not to push the shoulder back any more than necessary to get a "feel" fit as you close the bolt. Regards, Eagleye.
 
X3 Very precise positioning of the boltface and cartridge base - the shoulder blows forward to fill the empty space in the chamber (if any).

Wildcatters love the belted magnum because you can fireform without need for a false shoulder or the like.
