Hey, I was wondering if you need to check headspace on Ar15's when you upgrade or change bolts. Sounds like a "duh" question, but in the military we would grab our C7 and a BCG out of a box, fit them up and go. Never an issue. I sure would hate to wreck my personal Ar by mismatching something though.

If the bolt is well used with 6K+rnds, I would probably want to check headspace.
Take with a grain of salt... ie based on how well used the parts are.
New barrel & new bolt = OK
New barrel & old bolt = OK
Old barrel & new bolt = OK
Old barrel & old bolt = No
