I'm not sure what you mean by frt... still a newbie here lol. I spent an awful long time on the phone with the RCMP and so long as you have the license to own it you can build it for yourself. Also if it is a non restricted rifle it also doesn't require a serial number which surprised me. No worries about derailing my post guntech already answered my question and the rifle is now head spaced properly.

"Prohibited ammunition or firearm parts that are classified as prohibited devices, including handgun barrels that are 105 mm or less in length or parts made exclusively for a fully automatic firearm, cannot be imported into Canada."

hey tiriaq no I had no issues importing it into Canada. I first removed the FA parts and had the mags pinned so everything was legal. The only issue was the company I bought it from was the only issue I had. They would not sell to a Canadian so I had an American buddy of mine buy it for me.

Hey guys I'll answer each of your questions/statements

wbaad - No I will not be making semi only parts for the fire control group. Back in post #10 I said I would be making an insert for the semi auto sear because the semi sits over the full auto sear. I'm making that just because I have to.

ptemin - My intent is to sell 80% completed receivers with the appropriate blueprints to complete the work yourself. Once I've received permission to do so I will be trying to set up a group buy (100+) that way it is cheaper for everyone and I make a little money too for myself. Ideally and assuming the stars all align my goal is to be ready for production in late spring (May-ish). However if you're mechanically/CAD inclined, with my receiver and the prints I send out you can do as you wish. Perhaps one day I'll make it public domain but after all the hours I have invested I'd like something out of it.

Robmcleod82 - Honestly that is why I took on this project. I have a friend who owns one of the now prohibited 858's and my goal was to get these out to the Canadian market before the 2 year amnesty ended. I was almost done machining the first part when the PC's came out with their new legislation on the firearms. One of the few times I was sad the government listened to all of us who sent letters/emails LOL. But I think there is still a market for these assuming people would like their firearm back to Non-Restricted (which is what I'm going for with my new receivers)

Any other questions guys just keep em coming.

Was the parts kit legally exported from the United States?

Please review CGN Forum Rules and Terms, in particular the Policy for Business or Profit Seeking Activities; sale of 80% receivers; organization of group buys.
