Headstamp question

Is there a way to identify the headstamp from ww2 era .45 cal pistol cartridge as opposed to more modern ammo?

Do you have an example head stamp ? There are hundreds if not thousands of diffrent stamp marking .

I don't have a particular cartridge. What I'm hoping for is for someone to say (for example) "hey if you had CIL .45 cal on a headstamp it could only have been1945 and earlier." Has to be a .45 though.

As previously said, there are hundreds of different headstands from many manufacturers through the last century. Unless you ask a specific question, you’re not likely to get any useful answers.

.45 as in US made military issue .45ACP? There will be a date and maker code. EC 43, etc.
Canadian made .45 Colt revolver? DC headstamp.

You really need to be more specific.
