Heat shield Mossberg 590S

I ordered one of these from them.

Mossberg 500 590 835 VAPOR EYE Heat Shield Tactical Shotgun 12 Gauge Shroud

Good guy, I emailed him to ask if they shipped to Canada and he replied right away and encouraged Canadians to keep on fighting for their gun rights.

Do you know if they make one for the Remington 870 (Wingmaster)? I have a police/riot gun that could use a shield.

By the time we pay the duties it'll probably be $110........

;)...but it's cool, and I'm convinced I "need" it. Laugh2

I recently bought one of those 590A1 retro's, and I like it so much, the past love of my life, the 870 wingmaster police (18" I think?...slug gun with rifle sights), has sat in the lock up.

The 590A1 has a ridiculously heavy walled barrel, it's so heavy that it take quite a while to heat up, but once hot, it tends to stay that way for quite a while...hence the heat shield which is a necessity for that gun if you plan on shooting any more than 3 mags worth.

As i get accustomed to the manual of arms for the 590A1, I know, I just know, I'm going to burn my hand when I start giving the Wingmaster some love again if a shield isn't present, having now grown used to palming the shotgun in front of the receiver and rolling it over to charge the magazine.

My only misgiving is that some have complained the shield will move forward under recoil. I'm really hoping that isn't the case, but can see it happening.

I'm planning on installing it and then making a metal spacer for the gap between the HS and the barrel lug.

I was lucky with mine. No CBSA bonus prizes. I threw mine on a 1301 and it keeps my mitts from getting burnt. It has not moved under spirited shooting.

Got the CP delivery notice and can pick it up tomorrow

$53 CAN for the HS and postage.

$14 Canadian duty.

2 weeks delivery time.

Hope it fits OK

Nothing yet, I seem to think I paid a little more?

Fit...I'm contemplating a cylinder bore 14" barrel and swapping out the police rifle sighted barrel. Hen's teeth doesn't even describe the availability of 14" 870 barrels, which I find really odd. One would think there are oodles of them out there?

I removed and oiled the barrel. The HS clamped on securely and with the rear clamp seated as far back ss it would go it cleared the front barrel lug.

It came with two sets of clamp screws and I needed to use the longer screws. You have to have the screws aligned exactly with the screw holes or they won't start.

It functions fine with snap caps. Hope to get to the range with it.

Mine's due in next week. Paid $38.19 Usd. thus far.
