Got my hand burnt a few times training for faster loading while touching the barrel while the gun is upside down. Think I will need a heat shield on the barrel. But
1) I have the magpul forend (7.x inch forend tube, yeah remove the original one piece forend, forend and tube are all aftermarket) installed so is there any restriction on selection? Is there enough clearance between that and the heat shield?
2) The easiest found online is one called ATI Ghost ring something something but it seems to be for the 500 and it has a note say it is not for mav88.
3) I do have a longer choke barrel. I don't need heat shield for that one but will it be ok to swap the barrels from time to time? ( I hope the heat shield will go on the barrel so I can just remove the whole thing but as long as I can swap them, with some tool, it is fine)
Is there a heat shield that you know of, preferred to be sold in Canada, that will fit my mav88 (it's originally a security 18.5 model)?
I hope it is not a too expensive add-on. Otherwise I would save the money on a MK12 next year.
