More time in gym, less time at computer and the poll becomes moot. Out of all options the HKs fit me the worst.

Not sure how gym time can fix a comparatively unbalanced and sluggish rifle…

The joke is that we're all weak because we're on the internet, and that you should force yourself to make do with crappy equipment rather than look for equipment that works a little bit better.

I don't know...but my AR10 is pretty darn heavy...I'd hate to have to lug it around for any length of time.

I have only handled 3 on that list, but of the 3 my SL-8 is the worst. Horrendously front heavy.

Swiss is a second up, but not nearly as bad, and I like its handling a lot better.

I'm not sure there's a joke there... Nature rewards slacking, so I'm all for the equipment that works a bit better. ;)

Yah eh!! I have noticed all the ###L gear for sale in the EE, hopefully the original owner is downsizing to XXL gear and not ###XL.

I couldn't agree more. If you find your rifle too heavy to run drills with, get a gym membership.

There's a fine line though, if your rifle weighs more than let's say 10Lbs(.223) or 12lbs(.308) then you should be looking at the amount of useless s**t attached to it, not the overall weight of the platform.

In regards to the original question, I personally found the H&K SL8 (Unlike a short barreled g36, which I found very balanced and quick to point) to be very heavy and uncomfortable to shoot, the only other black rifle that was as ergonomically disgusting and un comfortable was the Benelli MR1. I have shot a lot on the Swiss rifles and the XCR and find the Balance to be front heavy on both, however the effect this has on handling is minimal for me. I think the user needs to find a platform that works for him, and then train on it to become proficient and instinctive. Otherwise, balance, weight, caliber, none of that matters.

Swiss, the NR is a beast compared to the Carbine with 17.9 barrel. The balance is totally different as the NR is sooooo front heavy compared to the Carbine. The HK MR is heavy but very nicely balanced, the 308 is awful. SL8 heavy but more nicely balanced than the SAN NR but not as nice as the carbine.
