Heavy bolt lift

I’m shooting berger 109s out of it and I’ll have to check in my reloading book what my overall length was.
I don't have the Berger load data but my comparison of that bullet to similar Varget powder loads with shorter lighter bullets indicates a possibly compressed load. Unless your seating the bullets really long. Pretty sure your overpressure. Did you use a chronograph? Cheers

Loaddata berger provided. Seeing as you are shooting 109s it fully applies. And gives you an idea of COAL.

Could be powder charge, my 6br with 108 or 105 and 30 Grs of varget also experiencing heavy lift, drop my charge to 29.7, also check ejector tension( spring)

I shoot 109 bergers in my br at 29.0 grains of varget. 2755 fps with a 24” barrel. 1.772” to ogive.

I haven’t bought a prefit barrel yet. I’d rather just get a gunsmith to chamber it and check headspace etc. seems like the safe way to go for me.

30.0gr of varget with a 105 hybrid bullet is slighty over pressure in my gun.
Every gun is different...
My lod is 29.8 with an 105 hybrid or 29.4gr with a berger 105BT. Both same vel.

So I shot the rifle again today. Cleaned the barrel before going out and loaded a few rounds at 29gr. Everything seems to be fine at that gr. So I guess the rifle is over pressure at 30gr.
Good. Glad you got a solution. I'm sure you'll be able to find a node that works in that range.
