heavy M14 trigger

simply put NO..... and I'll repeat so those seated in the far back of the theater can hear me ...... NO No No lapping compound goes anywhere near your trigger group. Unless you are some master armourer who know some secret that isn't in any of the service manuals.

Imbane,

45ACPKING is correct that lapping compound shouldn't be used. That thing doesn't cut fast enough. Fine file is much better!

It's not that hard. And it's not that scary at all. I did: 1 M14, 2 SKS, 1 SVT40, 1 Savage 270 and 1 small bore already, all work fine.

If you plan go to fishhead's party in this weekend, bring your M14.

Cheers,

Michael

an ### fine file, used in the proper manner, in the correct locations can be used to polish up the engagement surfaces, without removing material or altering the angles of the engagement surfaces.
I don't recomend a trial and error approach to this however..... seek guidance from someone who has been there done that if you have anyone in your area that fits that bill.

that would be my suggestion too Rob....... I think it would be the best choice to shoot a few hundred rounds at least to break in the rifle and then decide if the trigger needs work. Although with the huge amount of readily availlable norinco replacement trigger parts availlable on the canadian market...... i guess it's no big deal ........ hehehehe I jest as i'm sure you know ;)
