Heavy metal hog wild

I'd heard of them before but never tried any. My thought went to deer at close range since there aren't really any wild hogs in this part of the world. If they are supposed to deliver 1-1/2" at 20yds, hopefully under 6" at 50yds, could work wonders in most animals vitals. Would want to test it/pattern it before hand of course.

Depends on your region. There are restrictions in Ontario.

In the 2015 Ontario regulations it shows a minimum gauge of 20 if loaded with shot (so slugs of any gauge are acceptable) and no shot smaller than SG or #1 buck for deer. I swore I remember reading that the minimum in previous years was #4 buck but I'm not sure; don't have my old regulation handbook handy. Under these regulations these triple-ball loads would be legal under the general regulations. There are region specific regulations as well that I'm not sure on for Southern Ontario.

They're not full-bore so I can't see them being classified as slugs. The balls are .625" which is oversized for a 20ga (.615") and undersized for a 12ga (.729"). Not that that matters in Ontario since they're above #1 buck (.30") so it's all moot.

Hevi-Shot tends to be very expensive (sometimes $3-5 per shell) so I'd likely go to regular foster slugs ($1 each most places) before these. Gives me some ideas for handloads though.
