Hechler & Koch GMBH P7 markings question?

Howdy, I got a Hechler & Koch GMBH P7 from a great friend. On the right side of the slide there's a "BMI" stamped with a line going through it (which is new). I fiqure it must be a West German Service Branch. But which one?

I believe it's the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Germany......
