Heckler and Koch G36C (more pics in 1st post)

Just want to clarify this. In the US the "Upper" is the registered gun. In Canada the "Upper" is the registered gun. The lowers are just "parts" if you will. Is that correct?

Yes

I think it depends on the location of the serial number

and this.

The serial number is on the "upper" on both the US and Swiss made SIG's, so the lowers are NOT the "gun" part. But they are still regulated by the US state Department, so getting one here will still require an exporter like Dave's Sport Shop (ad at the top, they are a US exporter)

I am planning to mount optics. I am partial to Eotechs. But, a trusted friend is trying hard to steer me towards an Aimpoint.

I actually have an Elcan Specter DR 1-4 on it right now, but I am not sure it is the right scope for this gun (makes it top heavy, and mitigates the overall lightness of the gun).

I think your right on the Specter. As the C variant was specifically designed for entry have you given any thought to a smaller reddot like the Doktor, Burris Fast Fire II or maybe a T1. Something that sits low and tight...

I think I'd lean toward the Burris myself ( it sits low which is nice as the G36 rail doesn't require the elevation like an AR) but clearly we don't pee in the same pool cheddar-wise:D.

And incidentally, she is a luscious piece of kit...
