Heckler and Koch P30L - Pics

I found the DA to be heavy,..but smooth,..which is in contrast to the USP I had. The SA was very decent,.and it surprised me how little this gun flipped during recoil,...much less than the USP.:dancingbanana: THe reset was suprising as I triple tapped a lot of targets.

THe only problem I can see is the slide lever was riding under neath my thumbs,.and I ran dry but the slide did not stay open.
I think that HK could have made the mag well opening more forgiving,..as I totally missed a mag change,,..sending the mag flying. I ended up grabbing the next mag on my belt, and then shooting strong hand like a monkey,..while retrieving the mag from the table that I had dropped.:slap:
(which got lots of laughs from IPSC1 and the other guys watching)

All in all,..this is a keeper for me. Again,..drop dead reliable,..and much softer recoiling than I had expected in a polymer pistol.

I am going to get back into my regular production gun, (stock 2),..but occasionally slum around with my P30-L:cool:

I found my problem with the P30...

Was shooting low left.

Found out that I could produce tight bull's eye group shooting in DA mode.

So the only explanation was trigger control. I came back to shooting 101 in SA mode and it showed immediate spectacular improvement.

The basics... too easy to forget or oversee...

I'm really happy! :)

Really good article on the HK P30 in Combat Handguns,...worth the money for the magazine. Another article on Les Baer/Caspian .40. THe cover features a sig in digital camo,..which looks really cool.
