Heckler & Koch MR223A3 question

The factory is fine. When you start shooting a lot. You change your mind. That would be the only real part I would consider doing.
Besides that, perhaps 3 prong surefire flash hider to add a training can or warden.
Yea I will get used to it. Don’t always need an ambi, have one on my Noveske never really notice an huge difference. I’m picking up an 3 pong flashhider tomorrow or so, was a pain in the ass to find M15X1 pattern. And ima pick up an training can down the road, don’t see the point in adding more weight currently

I have a raptor in mine. Feels easier to pull than the factory one.

I never heard of that issue on Geissele CH. I do have the AXTS before they were called Radian and used it more than Geissele. The pull feels the same to me except my MR223 is tad rougher as it is new. I mean pick want you feel comfortable but I don't feel it would be issue on Geissele since the pin inside use a double coiled roll pin (whatever it's called).

I like the Gieselle but in a 416 variant I prefer the raptor CH. it’s better it has a heavier charge back when pulling the bolt back than a DI gun.

Plus I prefer where the pins are not inside the upper, if they walk it can bring your gun down. I have had this happen at least once. If you look at LWRC they have captive pins which is great.

That’s because they are made to military or really tough tolerances. Just go out and get one spread the word. HK is the best.

HK is my preferred brand as well. I am considering an A1 for now since I can actually get it in the next couple weeks. Perhaps in the future I would get a second 11" upper with HKey.

The AR I have now I put together over a period of time and could not afford the HK at the time. I got rid of something recently so now its possible......just barely.

I actually really like MR223 including the 16 non chrome lined barrel version. It’s excellent for shooting distance with. My real gripe was the original offset pins was a pain in the ass when I picked up some 416 uppers. Just do it man. Grab the 11 and 14.5. Just go all out HK. Everything else doesn’t matter after that.

HAHAHHA they say great minds think alike.... That may apply here :D

The one I am interested in is a 16". If I end up getting it I will post a picture in here.

What role or specific purpose are looking for? What made you decide on the 16 ?

Right now it seems to be all I can find for sale in my price range. Ideally I would want the 14.5" A3 in RAL8000. I am not super picky on the barrel length. At this point I am in the "Begger's cant be Chooser's" category.

I did inquire with my local dealer about ordering an A3 in RAL but was told by supplier any MR223 will be at least a year. Having trouble waiting that long.

lol sounds fun.

Deaus, you should post a WTB on the EE. Might find something.

That would probably be a good idea. I am just waiting to hear back about the A1 I inquired about. I was actually about to grab the mr308 you had up not to long ago but someone grabbed it when I scraped the cash together.

I run the US MR556 non-chromelined gun as my SVC match gun in the last few years, but I did have the barrel turned down and nitrided ( I won't recommend doing that, but it is another story).

As far as I can tell based on the very small amount of data I have, the non-chromelined guns have smaller average group size.

The downside of the non-chromelined older and the US MRs is the need to do barrel scrubbing once it is fouled up by copper.

I heard the non chromelined and chromelined barrel have almost no different in groupings. Just the chromelined barrel is more durable and can sustain more round counts.

Waiting for my Green Dot Trijicon MRO, surefire 3pong , and my pressure pad for M600DF, Should all arrive this week. Thinking about getting a PEQ-15 to complete it... but the price got me reconsidering.

What happened to the anodizing on your Upper receiver?!? I've seen some colour variation in the RAL 8000 anodized finishes, but nothing that dramatic. Is that factory?

Yup factory. I think is just the lighting lol. Still looks abit shinny here but in person is a nice looking finishE046596C-8D46-404F-BECA-7FFBA99DA079.jpg
