Wanted to share a photo of a VP70Z/H from my collection. This is one of 54 in the world that H&K Oberndorf made with a holster stock and attachment points. Pretty much a VP70M but without the 3 round burst capability. The ZH designation stands for "civilian holster" in German. You can read more about it in the HK history book on page 78.

Neat piece for a collection for sure! Very very cool!

That being said, having shot one, i decided that it was a POS. Big, clunky and what is with that trigger? Felt and pulled just like those old plastic pistols that shot the little plastic disks.....

Actually its not that big at all. Its a combat pistol size but the grip is the smallest I have felt on any full size pistol, double or single stack! Much smaller the a glock 17 or even a single stack P7. Most of the weight is from a big slide that was needed for repeated 3 round burst fire. Dont forget the VP70M was designed as a machine gun, the VP70Z came later as a modification of it so its built like a tank. Also I have a Wolff spring kit in it and with it and when the pistol and trigger are properly lubricated its a nice smooth long pull. Kind of like a tuned double action revolver trigger. Its a sweet and soft shooter as it has a built in dual spring recoil buffer, and with the stock deadly accurate as it has a fixed barrel. Also for those that dont know its the world first polymer pistol. Also its a striker fired double action.... Sound familiar? This pretty much was the inspiration for glock.

Its a functional piece that works as a holster or a stock to be able to control the pistol in 3 round burst mode. I personally like items in which form follows functions, I am not into 'fashion' in pistols. I find all that is utilitarian beautiful, but hey thats just me. ;)

Man! If I had the ready cash I would buy that in a second! Would make a great companion for my Styer GB!

It does more then look cool.... if the planets align just right you can also ... wait for it ..... shoot it, and its pretty good at it and still looks cool while doing it. LOL

As i recall, even with the stock trigger, with a bit of familiarization it was damn accurate, and your right about the weight. Shooting 9 semi auto is like a 22 in those things.
